There are some outstanding shots of Whisper rowing out of John Wayne Marina. I've finally seen some footage captured of the types of mornings I experience when sailing. Apparently the close-ups were taken by the photographer while kayaking... very cool.

Noctilucent clouds

My buddy Denny and I went for a sunset "sail" recently (ie, no wind, so we rowed to Golden Gardens, anchored, and drank PBR). We were treated to an amazing sighting of what we just learned from Cliff Mass as Noctilucent Clouds:
